Reverend Terry B. Land, Pastor

Let us introduce you to our pastor, Rev. Terry B. Land. Pastor Land has been married to Reva J. Land for 36 years and they have three daughters and five grandchildren.

Pastor Land grew up in Houston, Texas and graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1973. Pastor Land graduated with a BBA degree from the University of Houston in 1977. Pastor Land became a license preacher in 1995 and became an ordained minister under the leadership of his ministerial mentor, Pastor A. D. McCraw. An ordination ceremony was performed July 3, 1998 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Houston, Texas.

Pastor Land graduated with a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree in 1998 from the Houston Graduate School of Theology. . The genesis of Pastor Land's vision was his completed thesis "The CHURCH the HOME the SCHOOL...a broken trinity. ©1998; The thesis was accepted and approved by the Houston Graduate School of Theology faculty in 1998.

Pastor founded Shelemiah Baptist Church January 2008 mentoring, teaching and leading God's people.

Pastor Land enjoys reading, family outings, biblical teaching and mentoring young people.

The objective of Shelemiah Baptist Church founded January 2008 is to be a dynamic spiritual organism empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world. To be in a worshiping fellowship, experiencing the awareness of God, recognizing His person, and responding in obedience to His leadership. We look forward to experiencing an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow believers. To help people experience a growing knowledge of God and man. To be a church that ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and world in Jesus' name. To be a church whose purpose is to be Christian in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
